Welcome to Native Talk and Real Talk. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our language learning applications and related services.

AI and Language Processing
Native Talk and Real Talk use third-party AI to score speech practice, power conversation practice, rewrite text, evaluate diary entries, and generate practice encounters. Real Talk asks for your permission in the app before this happens.
When you use those features, we send lesson text (what you type, or a transcript of what you said) to our servers, which then send that text to:
- Groq, for speech evaluation, conversation, rewriting, diary feedback, vocabulary tips, and most generated encounters
- Google Gemini, only for generated encounters if you have saved your own Gemini API key
We do not send audio files, email addresses, account IDs, payment information, or device identifiers to Groq or Gemini. If you say your name during practice, that name may appear in the transcript we send. This text is used only to score answers, give feedback, and generate practice content. We do not use it for advertising. Groq and Google process this data as subprocessors on our instructions and we require them to protect it with safeguards comparable to this policy.
Some translation can run entirely on device (Google ML Kit) and is not sent to our servers or to Groq.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate our app (cloud hosting, analytics, and AI subprocessors such as Groq)
- When required by law or to respond to legal process
- To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
- In connection with a business merger, acquisition, or sale

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
